Lost Cat

If you have found a cat that appears to be lost, please bring it to the shelter. We can check for a microchip and put the cat on public display so the owner can find their cat when they are looking at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting the cat yourself, ask one of our staff members about placing a Finders Hold on the cat. If the owner does not claim it, you will be first in line to adopt the cat yourself! If you have any questions, please e-mail us at AShelter@rsvlar.org. Include your name and phone number so that we can respond to your inquiry.

Send a picture of the found cat to WMaster@rsvlar.org so that it can appear on the city's web page.

Lost Dog

If you have found a lost dog and it is wearing a Department of Animal Control license, just tell us if the tag contains a year and also enter the license tag number. We can check our database and give you the phone number of the person who licensed the dog and help get that pup back home!

If you have found a lost dog that is not wearing a Department of Animal Control license, please bring the dog to the shelter. We can scan for a microchip, which may provide information about the owner including a phone number and address. In addition, we will place the dog on public view so the owner can find their dog when they are looking at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting the dog yourself, ask one of our staff members about placing a Finders Hold on the dog. If the licensed owner does not claim it, you will be first in line to adopt the dog yourself!

If you have found a dog that is wearing a license from another agency (even out of state) please let us know. We would like to help re-unite that dog with its family as quickly as possible. In addition, if you bring the dog to the shelter, we can check for a microchip and put the dog on public display so the owner can find their dog when they are looking at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting the dog yourself, ask one of our staff members about placing a Finders Hold on the dog. If the licensed owner does not claim it, you will be first in line to adopt the dog yourself! If you have any questions, please e-mail us at AShelter@rsvlar.org. Include your name and phone number so that we can respond to your inquiry.

Send a picture of the found dog to WMaster@rsvlar.org so that it can appear on the city's web page.
