Public Works
A comprehensive analysis and grading of the city streets is completed every 3 years. This process assigns a grade based upon various conditions of degradation. The overall grades of the streets are then sorted and prioritized in a 3-year overlay program. The most recent assessment was completed in April 2024 (PDF). Street lights are installed and maintained by Entergy upon approval by the Mayor. Requests are submitted through the Mayor's office at City Hall. The requests are reviewed and submitted to the Mayor for approval and forwarded to Entergy. The city's policy requires there be a minimum distance of 300 feet between street lights.
