[ARCHIVED] Residential Structure Fire

On Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 3:05 AM, four units of Russellville firefighters, including 3 engine companies and 1 truck company, under the command of Battalion Chief Kurt McBryde, along with the Fire Marshal’s Office, responded to a structure fire at 1106 North Sidney Ave. Upon arrival, fire companies found heavy fire coming from the front of a second story unit at the Spring Lake Apartments. Firefighters entered the structure and quickly extinguished the fire, confining it to the front of the home. The area of origin, the front living area, sustained heavy fire damage with the remainder of the residence sustaining extensive heat and smoke damage. Adjacent apartment units sustained no damage. The occupants escaped without injury. Red Cross responded to assist with displaced occupants. No firefighters were injured as a result of the fire. Fire units remained on scene until 5:30 AM. Preliminary contents and property losses are unknown at this time. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
