The Russellville Police Department is offering an amnesty month for all non violent misdemeanor warrants issued by the City of Russellville. The month of December will allow those people in the community with a misdemeanor non violent warrant, a fresh start in 2015. This helps people with a warrant to get a new start for the year and help pave the way to a rejuvenated record.
How this works- if a person has a warrant with our department, they can come into the Police Department and we will give them a court date for a mandatory court appearance, instead of taking them to jail.
This does not apply to any person with a warrant that is stopped or contacted by law enforcement at any other location. This has to be a voluntary commitment of that person with the warrant, to come in to the police department and get served a court date in person.
The amnesty does not apply to anyone that is on our misdemeanor top ten list.
