[ARCHIVED] Woodbrook Apartment Fire

RUSSELLVILLE, AR (July 13, 2016) - On Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 4:34 AM, four units of Russellville firefighters, including 3 engine companies and 1 truck company, under the command of Battalion Chief Kurt McBryde, along with the Fire Marshal’s Office, responded to a structure fire at 1616 East 16th Street, Woodbrook Apartments . Upon arrival, fire companies found heavy fire coming from a single apartment unit. Firefighters entered the structure and quickly extinguished the fire before it could extend to the additional apartment units. The apartment unit sustained heavy fire damage. The occupant, who was home at the time of the fire, escaped but sustained injuries as a result of the fire. The victim was treated on scene and transported by Pope Co. EMS. No firefighters were injured as a result of the fire. Fire units remain on scene at press time. Preliminary contents and property losses are unknown at this time. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
